July has been a flippin' hot month!
What a busy few weeks we've had. We always knew July would be an absolute nightmare and have been preparing for the months events for a while now - and here we are almost at the end of it. Here's a short run-down af this month's shenanigans:
- Pippa & Mulu's Wedding | view photos
- Jill was away on a 'sleepover' with her Rainbow unit
- My birthday - 21st July; spent flying up to Glasgow for ...
- Uncle Derek's Wedding | view photos
- Alex and Rachel's Wedding (Jill's cousin) | view photos
Yes; there's lots of photos to have a look at ... or at least there will be when I upload them! I took 480 for Uncle Derek's wedding alone!!
For my birthday I got a lovely Olympus E500 digital SLR camera - something I've been pining for for a while now. Now I can take all those snazzy shots that are a lot easier to do when you have a decent camera in your posession. Rather good value too - came with 2 lenses, case, memory card and a printer! I'm in gadget heaven.

The most observant of you may've already noticed the change in layout! Spring is most definately here so we thought we should ring in the changes with a more suitable theme for the website.
More importantly it also works really well with our new image gallery component which has now got updates in most areas, including our most recent trip to the Cotswalds during Easter. If you see things going slightly strange whilst you browse, don't worry - it's probably just me tinkering in the background. |

April is here, but it comes with a thobbing pain in my right-middle finger! I was doing some gardening and needed something from the kitchen. After reaching up on top of the units, the cornice decided to come off and fell straight onto my finger. Needless to say there was a lot of pain involved!! Then followed the swelling, the piercing the nail to release the pressure underneath it, and finally the nail coming off. I now have a rather perculiar-looking middle finger. |

Well, yesterday was a truly knackering day! Jill, myself and Di went off to what has become an annual trip to Crufts. For those of you who are unaware of what this is, it is billed as 'The Greatest Dog Show in the World' - and I can see why.
From the moment you get there you are in awe of the size of the thing! Held at the NEC in Birmingham, it boasts 4 huge halls full of thousands of dogs, their owners, their equipment - they even manage to sqeeze in a good few hundred stalls where you can buy the latest dog gadgets and toys. If you're a dog lover this show is a superb place to visit - whether it be to hunt down the oodles of freebies available or to see over 161 pedigree breeds of dog compete, do tricks and generally do what dogs do best. |

Well, a few weeks ago we were contemplating the next MOT for my car - and now here we are buying a shiny new one! After a bit of a debate we decided it may be best to get a new car, albeit about a year before we intended. It's a rather nice Vauxhall Meriva which is a car I've quite liked ever since I had one as a hire car with NEXT.
We're quite looking forward to driving a newer car (anything's better than our cranky Corsa's anyway!) and hopefully it won't end up costing us loads of money for repairs - at least for a good few years. |

To all who read this, we hope you had a great Christmas and Happy New Year! Christmas was a busy affair this year, paying visits to parents and seeing other people when we could - we even managed to see a rugby match and go to London a couple of times (Tommy Steele in 'Scrooge' was pretty good) to do some touristy-things and go ice skating next to the Tower of London. Keo is getting on well and not scratching too much really, although she manged to do a 16ft leap out of an upstairs window over Christmas, and we found her walking around the garden enjoying the crisp snow with a look of 'who .... me??!' |
